adio-Active Flowers, a five-piece band from Bowling Green, Kentucky, has been touring the South-East, non-stop, for the past three years. They have played shows with artists like Col. Bruce Hampton, Jack O-Pierce, Jewel, and Neil Young and Crazy Horse, while consistently selling out their own headlining shows.
he band's line up consists of Scott Bolser on drums and percussion, Daniel VanDerMeer on guitar, Chris Hughes on bass, and dual lead vocalists Cathy Allen and Marci VanDerMeer add acoustic guitars and flute to the mix.
adio-Active Flowers recorded and self produced their first CD in June, of 1995 with the proceeds from their shows. They never anticipated that they would sell thousands. When word of their success reached Nashville, TN, a reputable agency offered their aid in booking the band in the South-East.
996 was the busiest the Flowers had ever been, playing three and four shows a week in Indiana, Kentucky, Tennessee, Alabama, and Mississippi, and setting their sites toward new horizons daily. Now that they have had months of professional road experience they are recording their newest album -- one that will reflect the songwriting maturity and stylistic progress they have gained.
997 is sure to be the best year yet. The new CD is slated to be released in May, and summer touring plans are already in progress. If you haven't seen them live, don't wait until another showpasses you by. If you haven't bought their first disc, do so beforethe second one makes its summer debut. You will definately want the collection.
he flowers plan to keep the masses very busy throughout the spring and summer months. Keep in touch with our web site regularly for new developments and the latest tour dates. It will be the first place where you will get a sneak preview of the new album.
